Went for brunch last weekend to a new spot we’ve been eyeing since it opened, The Bag Lady. Luckily for us, the home we’ve just (conditionally) purchased is right down the road from this cool little sandwich diner. They serve a simple gourmet sandwich menu, fresh baked desserts, and more importantly they stock Pop Shoppe soda. Since I grew up in the neighbourhood, it’s nice to see how well they’ve converted the old variety store into something useful to the area. The interior is full of old toys, books, furniture and the best part is you’ll never see the same cup or plate twice.

The fine people at Organic Themes have decided to showcase our website! Organic Themes is a complete WordPress theme solution company founded in the remote town of Lahaina on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. If you’re interested in that kind of stuff take a look at their website, they do great work and were kind enough to give us a nod for the design of our little website.

A few months ago when we started planning our wedding, our first big decision (besides booking the venue) was the importance of a good photographer. We knew immediately who we had in mind but availability is never a guarantee, especially when the photographer is in high demand. Luckily, Heather from HRM Photography was available and we booked right away. I’ve known Heather for years, she’s my brother’s high school friend and has had a camera in hand ever since I’ve known her. We booked an engagement session knowing that Heather would be open to anything, so we decided to have our photos taken at the Western Fair when it was in town this past September. The carnie folk and rides added character to the photos and everything turned out great.

Thanks for visiting our website. We know it’s kind of cheesy for couples to have a website, but we figured it would be nice to include our friends & family on the details leading up to our wedding. We’re both insanely busy most of the time but hopefully we’ll be able to find some time in between the chaos to share some behind the scenes moments as we plan our wedding. We’re a very resourceful couple and we’re hoping to get our hands as dirty as possible when it comes to planning and creating anything and everything that will become our wedding. We’re working as hard as we can to not make it a unique and fun experience for our friends and family, and in the process we’ve been told our vision is a little different than most…not to say we’re going to roll in on elephants or anything over the top, it’s just that we’re not going for the typical out of the box event. I suppose that’s all for now, but if you’re interested check back every so often for more updates.
